Hoodie Hem Drawcord Exits: Position and Reinforcement Specification

A hoodie hem-cord spec should show the channel, exit location, reinforcement and cord path on the garment, then confirm access and comfort on the assembled sample.

MyOwnWear buyer guide · Project-specific confirmation required

State the function and route

Show whether the cord adjusts the hem, is decorative or is omitted from some sizes. Draw the channel and mark each exit relative to side seams, pockets and the front opening. Identify the cord reference and any stopper or end treatment separately from the fabric opening.

Define the opening treatment

Call out a metal eyelet, stitched buttonhole or another approved finish, with interior and exterior views. State the reinforcement expected at the exit and whether the opening should be concealed. Confirm how the channel ends so the cord can travel without entering a pocket or becoming trapped in a seam.

Consider wearer contact and snag points

Review the cord ends and exit location on the finished garment. Note any intended restriction on exposed ends, stopper position or cord length without assuming a regulatory standard that has not been identified. If the garment has an intended age category or market-specific requirement, request a separate compliance review.

Ask for a functional sample check

Operate the cord, inspect both exits and record the garment size and version. Attach a close-up of the approved interior reinforcement and exterior appearance. Put the cord path and any market requirement in the RFQ, not solely in a styling image.

Buyer decision record

Record the garment style, material or trim reference, sample size, revision and the question being decided. If the supplier proposes a change, ask for the changed layer order, measurement or artwork location in a marked response before treating the quote or sample as comparable.

Evidence scope

The linked references provide terminology or named-method scope only. They do not prove a MyOwnWear capability, a project result, a price, a lead time or a certification. Confirm the actual material, construction and acceptance criteria for the project.

  • Coats: Seam Types — Seam terminology and construction categories only; no project workmanship result.

Use this brief in the MyOwnWear RFQ form. Include the style, quantity, current file or sample revision and the decision you need confirmed.

Next step: ask for a written feasibility response that separates confirmed inputs from supplier-proposed alternatives, then approve the relevant sample evidence.

Keep the approved drawing, measurement or photo with the quote record so the same construction can be checked at the next handoff.
