Garment-to-Hanger Fit Trials: Brief Support and Contact Points
Approve the garment and hanger as a pairing, not as two separate photographs. Identify the hanger, garment size and hanging configuration; then review support, contact and removal on an actual sample. A hanger described as suitable for jackets does not establish that it fits the particular shoulder, neckline or trim arrangement in the order.
For streetwear buyers preparing hanging presentation or shipment specifications.
Identify the hanger that will actually be used
Give the hanger its own reference and attach a drawing or identified physical example. Show the support profile, hook orientation and any clips or connecting pieces relevant to the garment. Ask the packer to confirm which version is proposed. A generic hanger photograph is insufficient when the received article has different shoulders or clip contact points. Do not silently replace the reviewed reference with another item carrying the same broad product name.
Choose garment sizes for the review
State which sample sizes will be tried and why those sizes matter to the packing decision. Include the actual material and construction revision. Do not treat a successful trial on one sample as proof for every size in the purchase. Ask the supplier to propose a practical size-review scope, especially where the shoulder width or garment weight changes across the range. Keep unreviewed combinations explicitly pending.
Mark the intended support and contact areas
On the garment drawing, identify where the hanger should carry the garment and where contact should be avoided. Review the shoulder, neckline and any decorative or removable component near those locations. These are project-specific observations, not a universal damage threshold. If the hanger appears to concentrate contact at an unintended point, ask for a revised pairing rather than adjusting the photograph to hide the issue.
Define the hanging configuration
Record whether the front is open or closed, how sleeves rest and whether removable components remain attached. Include any cover or fastening used during the trial. A different closure state can change the visible drape and load path, so the review should represent the intended presentation. Do not improvise hidden pins or temporary ties unless those items are deliberately proposed, identified and approved as part of the packing configuration.
Observe loading and removal as well as display
Have the reviewer put the garment onto the identified hanger and remove it using the intended sequence. Note catching at the neckline, closure or trim and whether the operation requires an unexpected workaround. Inspect the garment before and after the trial. Record visible changes without claiming that a short demonstration proves long-term storage performance or transport protection. Those questions need their own agreed evidence plan.
Tie packing approval to the reviewed pairing
Save the hanger identity, garment revision, reviewed sizes, configuration and unresolved observations in the packing record. If either item changes, ask whether the relevant trial must be repeated. Send MyOwnWear the paired references and request confirmation of sourcing and sample feasibility. Do not assume that hanger supply, storage performance or a particular packing service is included until the project response confirms the scope.
Decision and evidence checklist
| Decision | Include in the brief | Review evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Pairing | Hanger reference and garment revision | Physical compatibility trial |
| Contact | Support locations and avoided areas | Before/after observations |
| Release | Sizes and hanging configuration | Packing decision with open issues |
What this brief does and does not establish
This is a suggested compatibility-review workflow. No universal hanger size, damage limit, storage duration or MyOwnWear hanger-supply capability is asserted.
Send the hanger reference, garment sizes and hanging configuration to MyOwnWear; request a paired sample review and confirmation of packing scope. Open the MyOwnWear RFQ form.
Buyer questions
Can a generic hanger photo approve garment compatibility?
No. Review the identified hanger with the actual garment configuration.
Does one size approve the full range?
No. Agree which combinations require review.
Does this trial prove transport protection?
No. Define transport and storage evidence separately.
