Name the footwear relationship first
State whether the strap passes inside the shoe, outside it or in another intended arrangement. Supply the relevant footwear reference and show the route in a side or underside drawing. If several footwear looks are planned, identify each as a separate review condition rather than assuming one sample image covers all of them. A styling photo may establish the desired look, but it does not describe how the strap reaches that position.
Mark the two attachment points independently
Show the left and right anchor locations relative to named trouser landmarks. Record the relaxed strap length using an agreed measurement path, and distinguish that value from any worn extension observation. Ask the supplier to propose material and attachment construction for review. Avoid prescribing a universal stretch ratio without a material evaluation. If the anchors move during pattern revision, recheck the strap route rather than retaining the old strap measurement without explanation.
Observe movement without making a universal comfort claim
Request the agreed standing view and a short sequence of the wearer moving through the actions relevant to the styling review. Note twisting, displacement or interference as observations tied to that sample and shoe. Ask for a proposed change where the intended appearance is not maintained. Keep fit, comfort and material durability questions separate. A reviewer liking the sample does not establish that every wearer or shoe combination will behave the same way.
Carry the wear conditions into the approval record
Include footwear identity, strap route, size and sample revision beside the approval photographs. If a later reviewer uses a different shoe, record the change rather than treating the resulting difference as a supplier error. Preserve any care or replacement questions as open items until answered. A detached spare strap also needs an installation decision if replacements are planned; its presence in a packing list alone does not define how a customer attaches it.
