Draw two finished silhouettes
Provide a lowered front and side view alongside a rolled view. Mark the intended turn-up depth and explain whether a visible second fold is part of the design. Keep these finished references separate from the cutting allowance. If the buyer only supplies the rolled photograph, the maker has to infer the hidden hem and original leg length. Identify the configuration used for the size chart so a fit comment does not compare unlike lengths.
Trace the tab from anchor to button
Show the tab’s attachment on the inside or outside of the leg and its complete route around the rolled section. Mark the button position from fixed garment landmarks, not from an unmarked crease. Ask whether the tab has a parking position when the cuff is lowered. Review any loose tab end and exposed button in that state. The anchor, tab length and rolled bulk need to be considered as one interface rather than isolated trim dimensions.
Approve what the fold reveals
A turn-up can display an inside fabric face, seam allowance, hem finish or contrast panel that is otherwise hidden. Identify which surfaces are intentional and which should stay concealed. Request views at the side seam and inseam, where the roll may look different from the front. If a contrast finish is proposed, name it in the bill of materials. Do not assume an attractive exterior fabric gives an equally suitable presentation on its reverse.
Check conversion and packing instructions
Ask for a simple demonstration of lowering and refastening the cuff using the proposed sample. Note whether the roll sits consistently after conversion and whether the two legs can be set to the same presentation. This is an appearance and usability review, not a durability test. Confirm the shipment state and whether the product description will explain the convertible length. Keep any later change to hem construction connected to the tab placement review.
